NEW ZEALAND DEFEATED SOUTH AFRICA

CricketBot

Jacob Oram stuns South Africa – New Zealand marches into the semis.

Oram instrumented removal of Graeme Smith, Jacques Kallis, Faf du Plessis, Johan Botha, Dale Steyn and Robin Peterson in the biggest upset of this world cup. He gets Man of the Match for his 4 wickets and 2 catches.

Oram - "Thanfully I was tall enough and managed to get there for the Kallis caught. I don't want to take credit for that one, but I suppose Kallis' dismissal was the turning point of the match. We believe we can go all the way now. This is among the best moments in my career, another one is beating South Africa in the 2003 World Cup."

We sincerely feel for the South Africans – 1992, 1996, 1999, 2003 and now 2011.

New Zealand beat South Africa in QF#3 by 49 Runs

PAKISTAN DEFEATED WEST-INDIES

CricketBot

Clean Pakistan two matches away from repeating 1992.

Thank you West Indies - bowled out in 44th over for 112, chased in 21 overs by the mighty Mohammad Hafeez (61 in 64 balls with 10 fours) and Kamran Akmal (47 in 61 balls with 7 fours). No wickets were lost in the process. Sahid Afridi took 4 wickets, Hafeez took 2 for 16 runs in 10 overs.

Man of the Match, Hafeez - "I really worked hard over the last couple of days and it worked for me. The coach told me a couple of days back that I would bowl with the new ball, and I tried it at the nets. I just kept them on a line and length today, and it worked. My batting form came back at the right time and I hope to carry it on."

Afridi - "This is a great gift to give back to the nation on Pakistan Day."

Exceptional play, Pakistan!

INDIA DEFEATED AUSTRAILIA

CricketBot THE SINGH ROARS – India wins.

Thank you YUVRAJ SINGH for the unbeaten 57 and taking down HADDIN and Clarke, you have taken India two step closer to THE CUP – 2011 Cricket World Cup.

YUVRAJ gets fourth Man of the Match - "I don't know about hitting any purple patch, but the pressure today, playing Australia, it was something else. I have gone through a tough year, but coming into the World Cup, getting that 50 against England, it was good. 260 was a good score, PONTING batted outstandingly but we chased well."

DHONI - "70-odd runs needed with the last batting pair, it basically meant if we played 50 overs with YUVRAJ and RAINA, we would make it. There was pressure, and it was about handling it. I'd have been satisfied keeping them to 250, we had our best fielding unit today. I think we saved around 15 runs that we hence did not need to chase. India v Pakistan semi-finals - it doesn't get better. The pressure will be big, but in reality it makes no difference to us."

WAR at Mohali - AFRIDI vs. DHONI!
